The Defense Employer Recognition Scheme (DERS) have presented Compass Fuel Oils with the bronze award recognising our work to become an armed forces-friendly organisation. The DERS recognises commitment and support from UK employers for defense personnel, and the scheme comprises bronze, silver and gold awards for employers who support those who serve or have in the Armed Forces, and their families.
We employ 4 ex-military officers including Kevin Kiely, Mick Connolly, Henry Ingham and Oliver Ingham. Our recruitment processes are Armed Forces inclusive and arranged for members of staff to receive training that champions alignment with ERS values.
This obligation involves the whole of society: it includes voluntary and charitable bodies, private organisations, and the actions of individuals in supporting the Armed Forces. Recognising those who have performed military duty unites the country and demonstrates the value of their contribution. This has no greater expression than in upholding this Covenant.
